What is your background and education ?

Being a Toronto native, I completed both my B.Sc. (Hons) and Masters of Physical Therapy degrees from the University of Toronto.  During my time at U of T,  I was awarded the Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award for my involvement on campus and within the community.

I love learning and hold certifications in  Acupuncture,  Manual Therapy  and  Active Release Technique (ART).   I enjoy mentorship and being a part of the physiotherapy community.  I currently act as a clinical lab facilitator in the Physical Therapy department at the University of Toronto,  and was an executive member of the Ontario Physiotherapy Association’s Westgate District.

With a keen interest in bone and joint health,  I have received additional training in BoneFit  and GLA:D,  which aim to provide exercise-based management for individuals living with Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis.  I also am a Certified Nordic Pole Walking Instructor,  giving my clients another tool in helping with keeping you moving.

What inspired you to become a Physiotherapist ?

Physiotherapy to me is this magic blend of 3 things I’ve always been interested in:   Anatomy, Education, and Helping people !

It was a combination of key personal experiences that led me to become a physio:  my uncle who had severe Parkinson’s,  and my own personal physical fitness journey.

Both experiences showed me how important having access to the right tools, care, and education are when it comes to physical self-empowerment.  My favourite part of being a physiotherapist is being able to give clients tools and strategies to help guide them in taking control of their own rehabilitation!

Why did you choose to work at InsideOut ?

The one thing that really stuck out to me was how collaborative the team is.  It is clear that our team is truly focused first and foremost on our clients.  Each team member brings with them a variety of experiences, training, and pearls of wisdom which we are always eager to share!

What are you personally passionate about ?

I really enjoy anything where I can work with my hands in a creative way  –  drawing,  baking, crafting  –  you name it.   Recently, I have added woodworking to that list.
