At InsideOut Physiotherapy & Wellness Group, we continue to be amazed by the complexity of the human body.

As a physiotherapist, InsideOut founder,  Jennifer Howey saw how people lost their independence when they suffered an acute or chronic injury.  She also witnessed the amazing ability of the body to heal or adapt when given the right guidance.  Jennifer opened InsideOut Physiotherapy & Wellness Group in 2008 with the goal to create a welcoming environment, where therapists would be encouraged to direct their treatment, with the patient at the core.

It is through the work of a team of physiotherapists and health care professionals that share the same core values of one-to-one, patient centered care, collaborating with each other, and thinking outside the box that have lead to powerful success stories that drive our passion every day.

One-to-One Care:

Accurate diagnosis involves actively listening to the patient and developing an assessment and treatment plan centered around their body and their goals.  To encourage this interaction, the clinic is built with private treatment rooms.  InsideOut physiotherapists know the key to getting the best patient outcome is establishing a trusting relationship between the therapist and patient.

Our Name is our Philosophy:

Our therapists understand that rehabilitation from acute and chronic physical problems include addressing the body from the “inside out”.
Stress affects the body systems.  Diet and lifestyle have an impact on joint pain. In order to truly address the problem, multiple factors need to be considered.

Multi-Faceted Treatment Approach:

The human body is a complex system. Effective treatment needs to involve a combination of modalities, manual therapy and exercise. InsideOut Physiotherapists will combine a variety of treatments, depending on the client’s presentation.  Acupuncture is also a powerful tool to assist in physiotherapy care.  All InsideOut therapists have training in this modality.

Our Team:

InsideOut’s success is due to its team.  It’s therapists are committed to life- long learning and have pursued advanced qualifications and certifications.  We draw on the background and talent of our therapists, providing treatment for a variety of conditions. InsideOut physiotherapists are passionate about the profession and working with the client.  Inter-collaboration is emphasized with ongoing in-services and sharing of knowledge.  The InsideOut team has earned the trust of the Toronto community and beyond.  Doctors and specialists rely on our diagnosis and input.

Community:

Health promotion is a key pillar of InsideOut.  Through our Nordic Pole Walking program and being a certified clinic for GLA:D Canada hip and knee Arthritis program,  we encourage life-long activity.  We have a long history of participation as members of medical teams for events such as the PanAm and Para PanAm games.

We also value our relationship with the University of Toronto Physical Therapy Program where our team are guest lecturers and clinical advisors for the Physical Therapy program. Committed to professional development, InsideOut hosts a number of advanced physiotherapy courses.

Creating a positive rehab experience involves every member of the team,  from the front desk to the therapist to the operations manager.  We work together to bring out the best in our patients and each other while remembering to have fun!  We set high expectations as we strive to help you achieve your best movement potential.
